How and when to use flatten quilt and flatten quilt deformation option in creo?

Dear Creo Users,

I am trying to use flatten quilt and flatten quilt deformation option in Creo modeling. I find this similar to  creosheet-metal unbend option. I think it is mostly used in creo surface modeling purpose. What do you think? When should I use it?
