Hello, New at Creo 2.0, but I was wondering does Creo 2.0 have a tool / command that allows you to sketch on a datum that runs through a solid part. In inventor and SolidWorks you can "Slice" the solid model when creating a sketch to eventually extrude cut, revolve cut, etc. I can't find any information that says you can do this.
Any help would be appreciated.

I want to link a parameter my model to an on screen annotation. The parameter that I want to link is SMT_DFLT_BEND_RADIUS. I want to make it show up in an editable annotation so that in a sheet metal part, I can set all of the bend radii with one setting. I want to set it in the start part so that every sheet metal part that I create will have this annotation. I know that if you use the [value] in the sheet metal bend radius that I can change the value in the relations screen and it will change the bend radii. I've seen some pretty cool parts that controlled things like this and would like to learn how to do that. I'm having a hard time wading through the help files and I think that it might be pretty simple once you know how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.
In WF5 I am trying to determine which datum planes are referenced by sections.
I distinctly recall that for WF3 and earlier one could hover the pointer over a view cross-section name and text would appear showing the related datum plane, but this isn't happening for the WF5 install I've got now.
I've looked at model info, reference viewer, feature info. Nada.
The datum planes are named, but it doesn't help that one is A and another is XSECTION_A. No, there are no feature control frames that need [-A-].

We're a fairly small motosport company looking for a 3D Cad system. Our job is mainly designing aero parts (wings, body, etc..) and some mechanism (kinematic, etc..). We're also running CFD on those shapes.
We're looking for 3-4 licences, all of us have experience on specific software (Solidworks, Catia, NX, Creo..) but unfortunately none of us have a deep knowledge of Creo and another one, which makes comparison a bit complicated.
Is Creo the right tool for us? Most F1 teams and motorsport are using Catia.
Cost is not a major issue, we just want the right tool for our needs; which are: 1/good surface modelling (nurbs and subdivision; tsplines, IMA or similar) 2/good file export (stl, parasolid,..) 3/good scripting capability (we test loads of different shape and we'll need to streamline the process CAD->CFD).

I want to know how to insert a PDF in detail. normal we need to insert supplier's drawing (PDF format) in our frame, during the process we need to resize the PDF to right proportion (most of the frame) and right position ( top left corner).
I failure during trying: layout> insert> object> create new + (brown right the PDF folder), the insert PDF do zoom with frame( zoom by mouse). i can drag the PDF, but when I save the detail as PDF ( the supplier drawing + our company frame), the insert PDF stay in small size in left top corner, most of frame is frank.
I check PTC e support and find same probelm but no right solution, so I come here for your help, thank you.

I am using Creo parametric to build my teams textrix robot. The problem I am having is that every time I make a part flexible, to tweak its position, any parts added after that part dissapear. I am trying to make a pin constraint with a axle, and i want to constrain the end to a specific object. However, everytime I select it, the part I want to constrain it to dissapears. How can I stop this from happening?

After done Annotation > Show Model Annotation in drawing, I did Annotate > Show Annotations in model, all of dimensions shown up in model are disappeared from drawing. It seems the dimensions only can be shown in one of them.
Just recently I transfered from one division of my company to another. The first division used SolidWorks and the new division uses Creo. It has been over a decade since I used Pro/E so I am effectively a newbie. I am trying to create a structure based on a 3D array of a unit cell. Here is a screen shot of a portion of the cell created in Creo.
This is where I get stuck. This part must be mirrored a few times to create the actual unit cell. Since the mirror feature in Creo has no ability to revise the selections after creating it, I am trying to figure out how to pattern it with an axial pattern. When I attempt to do so, Creo gives an error stating, "Some features failed to regenerate." See the attached model.
Below is a screen shot from SolidWorks showing what the unit cell should look like, and another screen shot showing what the full 3D array should look like.
Any suggestions on how to make the patterns work?

i actually make use of the drawing to draw plan layout. i want to measure the area of individual section using the function. the function is there ,only it's grey-out.

I have some parts that are being taken out of ilink. I need to delete the parameters that were created by intralink. Can I do that somehow?
I seem to remember discovering a way using some creative save-as / baack-up routine that allowed deletion of those parameters. Does that rin a bell for anyone? Any clues...?

to make a long story short, I'm trying to create a simplified rep to exclude all components inside a chasis with vent holes so that the customer doesn't see what is inside the box. Anyway, my though process was simple:
1) Create a Zone X-Section of the inside
2) Create a Simplified Rep with a rule to include everything outside of the X-Section (default rep is exclude)
The problem I am seeing is that the rule includes assemblies as well as the parts. So if there is a connector coming out of the chassis, it will include the whole board assembly because of that little part. I would like to exclude assemblies from this rule so I can just grab the parts without a cascade affect that still leaves me with 80% of the items inside my zone.
Can anyone help me please?

I am calling out a dimension within a table cell as follows:
&rpt.rel.max [ &rpt.rel.maxmetric ]
In this case max = d100 and maxmetric = d100*25.4= 25.4
The problem is I want maxmetric to show 25.4 = 25,4 to be consistent with the ISO format.
Is there a tag that I can add to show the "." as a ","?
I hope that wasn't too confusing and thanks in advance.
What is better way to make a model (casting) keeping manufacturing process in mind?
Please also let me know the priority of feature command (Extrude,Revolve,sweep..etc) that i need to follow during modeling a cast model...

When I closed my computer on friday everything was still ok, but when starting Creo this morning my planes are missing from the model tree.
But when I create a new part the planes are visible in the model tree.

When opening .igs or .stp files in CREO the software places all of the geometry in an "Import Feature id". This is inconvenient because as i try to select them or hide them they are all combined together. I have tried many different types of settings in the open file menu as well as tried fruitlessly to "Edit Definition" . The "Edit Definition" function will allow me to show the individual geometry of the surfaces and datums but if I try to hide them in this function the reappear as son as I exit.
My question is this. is there a way to either open the files with the geometry in the tree or cut and past the geometry to the tree so i can manipulate it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to add custom profiles to the framework.
The rectangular and square tubes are with rounded corners and for calculating purposes we need them to be straight.
Also for we use custom profiles for our customers.
We used the same trick in Inventor, but in Creo I don't know it this possibility is here
