I have had an issue with drawing fonts - I have trawled through the internet and sought help via our support - but simply can't find an answer so am hoping you guys can assist.
The issue - using any other font other than "font" (default) in a drawing that can be manipulated via a pen table. I have been told that some "graphic" fonts cannot be changed either in line thickness on the pro-e menu or via pen table. Looking through a lot of the fonts available it seems none of these work. Is this right?
An option is to save out as a pdf as it seems a lot of you do, but we simply want to print out using a pen table which keeps the font we like but just takes away the thickness.
Any help greatly appreciated
Hi there Guys,
I'm a industrial designer and new Creo Parametric 2.0 user. In fact, i'm testing CREO to implement it in the company I work for.
We are a Pressure Vessel Designer and Manufacturer so, most of our pruducts will need the feature I'm looking for.
I'm trying to flatten quilt a semi-spherical surface so I can define the size of the plate to be used in the manufacture of a Vessel Head. Obviously, The area of a Sphere suface is a known area, but I'm just using it as an exemple. Vessel head will have Semieliptical, torispherical, and some other forms with more than one radius and etc. Also I don't know if i'm using the correct feature. I was able to flatten and curved surface, but not a domed one. Can anyone help me?
Hi,
I find out that going fron a circle in 2D to 3D structure the arc definition is not really good. Do i need to use the Spline tool to rebuild the entire circle or there is another way.
PS: sorry for my english, i am french.
thanks
I have been trying to make three arcs which each touch the others at one point so that they form a complete perimeter around a space. I have put datum points at each of the points where they touch and at the centres of the arcs. Unfortunately when I use the Endpoint & centre arc tool the points I place do not automatically go to the datum points when my mouse hovers near them, because of this Creo never regonizes that they join at a particualr point and I am then unable to extrude the shape. How can I define points that the arc points will "snap" to when the mouse hovers close?
I'm a student doing a senior design project at my university using Creo Parametric Student Edition. I can't figure out how to save my .prt files as .stl files in order to 3D print them. I've read online that saving as a .stl file should be an option under "save a copy" but it's never there. What's going on?
Hello all,
I searched around the forum and couldn't seem to find this question, so here we go.
We are about to update from Creo Elements Wildfire 5.0 to Creo 2.0 and Windchill 9 to Windchill 10. We are wondering if we need a seperate computer set up as a stand alone test site, or can this be done on a production machine which we are currently using to model and work with?
I suspect it would be best to have a seperate installation rather than some sort of dual installation.
Thanks,
James
I have a need to have an auxillary view that is rotated from it's original orientation.
It should be on the VIew Properties menu, but rotating projected and auxillary views never has been. I guess that I will do what I always have to do and create a general view with fake projection arrows and a fake view name to fake in what is a Drafting 101 sort of solution that PTC never seems to deal with.
I wonder if the PTC drafting developers ever picked up any technical drawing book and leafed through it to see all the drawing aids they could, but don't, provide. You can find them on line and at used book stores. Books that is, not drafting developers.
I have a model that I've created a number of points using the Offset Coordinate System Datum Point. To position the location of the points correctly some needed to have negative values in the X, Y, and/or Z direction.
Is there a way (without Overriding the dimension) to show all the values as positive?
Is it possible to create a PVZ file in CREO parametric that contains both the explode states and the animations that I have created, then open this PVZ file in CREO view express and be able to see the explode states and the animations.
hello all,
im having a little difficulty with forming a curve "buldge" on angled surfece (almost moulds out of the original shape), i have tried creating a new plane and working off that but it dosnt seem to work, i have attahced pictures to show what i mean.
any suggestions would be greatly apprecated
thank you
I have changed the view scale denominator in the config.pro file to 60.
I have some drawings created before I changed this.
In the bottom left corner it says a value that is ok but in the drawing sheet the value has the old format.
Does someone know how to solve this?
Hi everyone,
I was just working on structural analysis with the help of Creo 2.0 parametric , did anyone know how to put ball & pin constraint on surface or a point.Which are the best tools to be used for modelling.
Thanks,

How to create a profile like attached image in pro/e sheetemetal
We are on WF5/creo. Hate it. Thinking of upgrading, possibly all the way to creo2.
What are you guys suggesting? Should we go all the way to creo2? Is the latest date code good, or is there a better/older one?
What are your experiences with it. Did I mention I hated WF5/creo? Hopefully later releases will be less loathsome......
Thanks!
Frank
ok, so i have assembly "A" which goes into assemble "B", and i have a drawing for assembly "B".
my layers are correct in assembly "A" and assembly "B", but when i go to the drawing for assembly "B" i DO NOT have the same number of items in my layers.
assembly "A" has a layer called "surface" in it that comes from 11 parts that each have that surface layer in it.
in assembly "B" my surface layer shows up but this time it has 14 parts in it which is as expected because 11 of them are from assembly "A" and the other 3 from some other part or assembly beneath assembly "B".
NOW, when i go to the drawing for assembly "B", there are only 5 parts in the drawing layers.
where are the rest of my parts, and why are they not in my drawing layer named "surface" if they are there in my model layer named "surface" in my parts and assemblies????
these surfaces that i added to my "surface" layer are now showing up all over my drawings and im trying to hide them via layers which i have done a million times in the past. i have also never seen this type issue..
please help, this is wearing me out....

Creo is still relatively new to me. I am trying to model a curved rasp-like surface with rows of staggered teeth. However, I cannot figure out how to reasonably create the teeth profile. In Creo I have gotten up through the stage shown in Figure 1. Figure 2 shows what I am trying to make (modeled in a different CAD program). Attached is a parasolid file showing the geometry. My first thought was to extrude a cut from the side to create the profile, but doing so would take a chunk out of the next row of teeth. Any suggestions on a modeling strategy?
Figure 1: This is where I get stuck in Creo.
Figure 2: This is what the teeth should look like.
Figure 3: Angled view of the rasp.
I have a set of datum points taken from a table that shows position and height over base ground level.
How can I create a surface through these points?
Hi,
I require mechanism dynamics tutorials can anyone tell me where i can get it.

We want to use the leroy font for some signs we're manufacturing. But since the heigt of the leroy font is defined wrong (when you set the text height to 5mm, the lowercase letter turms out 5mm high) and it also refers to a latin font which look completely different, I have made a copy of the leroy font and made som changes. These are the settings in the original file: codeset 0
height 63width 36
base_offset 11
spec_height 26
xextent 36
fixed_width 1
ascender 11
polygons 0
ics 1
gap 8
These are the settings after my changes:
codeset 0
height 59
width 36
base_offset 11
spec_height 37
xextent 36
fixed_width 1
ascender 11
polygons 0
ics 1
gap 8
This gives the right height of the font. But I have the problem that when I write a note with more than one row, the base_offset of the row above collides with the ascender of the row below. I have tried to change the height and the ascender to 63 and 15. But the text comes out the same.
Does anyone know how to control the line space?
